This tiny barbet of the treetops might pass unnoticed except for its rhythmic, clinking "poop" note. Single birds or pairs are seen defending territories against others of their species. Living in woodland and grassland with scattered trees, it feeds on berries, also searching along twigs and in leaf clusters for small insects.
