Roseate Tern

A graceful, seagoing tern with long tail streamers, this species develops a pink tinge on its mostly white plumage when breeding. It feeds by plunge-diving for small fish. Nesting colonics arc located 011 offshore islands or 011 banks of sand or shingle by the coast.

• DISTRIBUTION Breeds 011 coast-in parts of all continents. Migrates within this range when not breeding.
