Atlantic Puffin

A stout bird with a large head and a short tail, the Atlantic Puffin has a comical appearance, with its masked eyes and massive bill. In breeding birds, the bill is covered with a red sheath, with yellow stripes and a gray triangle at the base. Pairs perform face-to-face bill-rapping displays in spring. The Atlantic Puffin flies strongly on fast-beating wings and swims under chasing fish, particularly sand i these crosswise in its bill to carry them to its young. Breeding colonies are located on cliff tops on coasts and islands. In winter, birds stay out at sea
